Position Summary
Rustica is seeking a skilled Craftsman / Woodworker – Swing Shift who takes pride in creating exceptional, one-of-a-kind products. This position reports directly to the Woods Department Swing Shift Manager and is responsible for producing custom wood products that meet Rustica's high standards of quality, craftsmanship, and customer satisfaction.
This role is ideal for an experienced woodworker who enjoys working with their hands, solving unique challenges, and producing high-end architectural products. Every project is different, providing the opportunity to showcase your craftsmanship while working alongside a team committed to excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Build, assemble, and finish custom wood products to meet Rustica's quality standards.
- Read and interpret shop drawings, work orders, and production specifications.
- Measure, cut, shape, sand, assemble, and finish wood components with precision.
- Safely operate hand tools, power tools, and woodworking machinery.
- Inspect finished products to ensure quality, craftsmanship, and customer specifications are met.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Collaborate with the Swing Shift Manager and production team to meet daily production goals and customer deadlines.
- Cross-train in multiple production areas and assist where needed.
- Identify opportunities to improve quality, efficiency, and manufacturing processes.
Required Qualifications
- Strong woodworking experience through cabinetry, finish carpentry, furniture building, millwork, or similar trades.
- Proficiency with woodworking hand tools and shop equipment.
- High attention to detail and commitment to quality craftsmanship.
- Ability to read shop drawings and accurately follow production instructions.
- Strong work ethic with a positive, team-oriented attitude.
- Dependable attendance and a desire to continuously learn and improve.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with custom woodworking or architectural millwork.
- Experience operating woodworking machinery, including table saws, wide belt sanders, planers, CNC routers, or similar equipment.
- Finish carpentry or cabinetmaking experience.
- Experience working in a manufacturing or production environment.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to frequently lift up to 60 pounds.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and perform repetitive tasks throughout a 10-hour shift.
- Ability to safely operate woodworking equipment.
- Ability to work in a manufacturing environment while wearing required PPE.
Schedule
Swing Shift
- Monday – Thursday
- 4:30 PM – 2:00 AM (schedule may vary based on production needs)
