Painter – Swing Shift

Location: Springville, UT

Position Summary

Rustica is seeking a detail-oriented Painter – Swing Shift to join our Woods Department. This position reports directly to the Woods Department Swing Shift Manager and is responsible for applying high-quality finishes to custom wood and metal products that meet Rustica's exceptional standards of craftsmanship.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on work, has an eye for detail, and takes pride in producing beautiful finished products. While previous painting or finishing experience is preferred, we are willing to train individuals who demonstrate a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and a desire to learn.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare wood and metal products for finishing through sanding, cleaning, masking, and final surface preparation.
  • Apply high-end finishes to custom doors, furniture, and architectural products using a variety of paints, stains, varnishes, lacquers, and specialty coatings.
  • Mix paints, stains, and finishes to achieve proper color, consistency, and quality.
  • Inspect finished products to ensure they meet Rustica's quality standards and customer specifications.
  • Maintain spray booths, painting equipment, tools, and work areas.
  • Follow established finishing procedures while identifying opportunities to improve quality and efficiency.
  • Collaborate with the Swing Shift Manager and production team to meet daily production schedules and customer deadlines.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment while following all safety procedures and PPE requirements.

Required Qualifications

  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
  • Ability to learn professional finishing techniques and safely operate painting equipment.
  • Positive attitude with a willingness to learn and grow.
  • Dependable attendance and strong work ethic.
  • Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment.
  • Sense of urgency and commitment to meeting production goals.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience painting or finishing wood, cabinetry, furniture, millwork, or metal products.
  • Experience with spray equipment, stains, paints, lacquers, varnishes, or industrial coatings.
  • Knowledge of paint preparation, color matching, and finishing techniques.
  • Experience working in a manufacturing or production environment.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to occasionally lift up to 75 pounds.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and perform repetitive tasks throughout a 10-hour shift.
  • Ability to safely wear required PPE, including respirators, eye protection, hearing protection, and gloves.
  • Ability to work in a manufacturing environment.

Schedule

Swing Shift

  • Monday – Thursday
  • 4:30 PM – 2:00 AM (schedule may vary based on production needs)
