Job Summary

Develops packaging equipment and materials to ensure safe, convenient, and visually appealing transport of goods under various conditions. Analyzes engineering drawings and product specifications to determine optimal packaging solutions that maximize utility, function, and compliance with safety requirements. Evaluates packaging methods, identifies opportunities to enhance efficiency, and recommends innovations in materials, sealing techniques, and fastening devices.

Key Responsibilities

  • Administers product development processes by coordinating and managing projects through the various stages of product design and development. Works with cross-functional teams to ensure timely delivery of product specifications, requirements, and milestones.
  • Analyzes somewhat complex product designs and recommends improvements or optimizations. Evaluates engineering challenges, identifying issues and solutions based on technical specifications, regulatory requirements, and customer expectations.
  • Designs somewhat complex product solutions using industry-standard design tools (such as CAD software) and techniques. Ensures that products meet functional, safety, and quality standards while optimizing manufacturability and cost.
  • Develops somewhat complex product prototypes and conducts testing to evaluate performance, durability, and compliance with standards. Documents test results and identifies areas for improvement or redesign to enhance product performance.
  • Coordinates somewhat complex cross-functional product development activities with departments such as manufacturing, quality assurance, and marketing. Ensures that product development timelines are met and that all departments are aligned in terms of product requirements and goals.
  • Identifies opportunities to improve product design based on feedback from customers, field testing, and internal performance data. Recommends design modifications to enhance product functionality, ease of use, or cost-effectiveness.
  • Implements engineering solutions and processes to support product development activities. Reviews and approves the final product designs to ensure they align with project goals, specifications, and industry standards.
  • Communicates product development progress and results to senior management, stakeholders, and team members. Ensures that project risks and issues are identified and addressed in a timely manner, keeping all stakeholders informed.
  • Recommends best practices for product development and operational improvements based on industry trends, technological advancements, and customer feedback. Provides guidance and support to junior engineers or technical staff, helping them develop their skills and knowledge.

  • Required Education & Experience

    Minimum Education Level: Bachelor's Degree

    Specialized Degree: Engineering (Any discipline)

    Years of Experience: 2-4 years

    Preferred Education & Experience

    Licenses/Certificates: Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification or similar

    Years of Experience: 5-7 Years
