BASIC SUMMARY:

Responsible for assisting Tarpon Club Members in fulfilling their needs and requests with an efficient, courteous, and professional level of service. Incumbent must have a friendly, sincere, engaging personality, excellent verbal communications skills and the ability to quickly learn and remember guests' names. Incumbent must also be knowledgeable and up-to-date on local events, activities, restaurants and attractions.

 

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

•    Primarily interact with Tarpon Club Members working to ensure a safe, fun, memorable, and valuable experience that results in increased sales and repeat visits.

•    Anticipate, assess and respond to the needs and requests of members/guests politely and efficiently to achieve maximum customer satisfaction while complying with all company policies.

•    Respond to all guest requests in an accurate and timely manner.

•    Organize tours and sightseeing trips for members/guests and secures taxis and rental vehicles when requested to do so.

•    Stay well informed and up-to-date on upcoming Tarpon events and local information pertaining to sports and recreation facilities, maps, restaurants, shopping,, theatres, etc.

•    Maintain Tarpon's exacting standards of quality and service and ensures that they are adhered to at all times; know and utilize the "Three Steps of Service".

•   Take and confirm Tarpon events and beach reservations for Tarpon Club members.

•    Maintain available calendars and promotional materials for Tarpon Club events.

•    Answer phones in a positive, clear-speaking voice.

•    Promptly greet and register all members/guests, issue key and direct or escort them to desired areas within the property; never point.

•   Acknowledge and greet guests by name whenever possible.

•    Check locker rooms routinely for cleanliness and supplies.

•    Ensure that beach pavilion is kept clean and displays are attractively merchandised to promote sales.

•    Promote sales by using suggestive selling techniques.

•   Assist in creating, planning, organizing, and implementing Tarpon club events and activities, primarily utilizing internal resources.

•    Purchase and price all items for retail operations in the beach pavilion. Assist with inventory control.

•    Provide support in all areas of Membership Services and assists other departments with special projects when needed. 

 

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

•    Any combination of education, training or experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.

•    High school education required.

•    Public relations and customer service skills.

•    Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.

• Full and open availability to work days, nights, weekends, and holidays.

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS/ABILITY TO:

• Read, listen, and communicate effectively in English, verbally (over the phone and in person) and in writing.

•    Effectively and professionally deal with customers, some of whom may require high levels of patience, tact, and diplomacy to defuse anger.

•    Work in a team.

• Grasp, lift, carry or transport up to 25 lbs. and push/pull wheeled carts weighing up to 50 lbs.

•    Stand, walk frequently, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.

•    Perform the duties of this job while exposed to outside weather conditions.

•    Withstand a moderate noise level.

• Express and exchange ideas by means of the spoken word accurately, loudly and quickly.

•    Perceive the nature of sounds at a normal speaking level and make fine discriminations in sound.

•    Have visual acuity to determine accuracy, neatness and thoroughness of the work assigned.
