CAD Drafter

Hi-Vac Corporation is seeking a full-time CAD Drafter! This is a fantastic opportunity to launch or grow your drafting career in a supportive, hands-on manufacturing environment.

About the Role:

As a CAD Drafter, you’ll support our product development efforts by transforming initial design concepts into detailed, functional CAD drawings. Working closely with engineers and project teams, you'll help ensure our high standards of quality and safety are met in every design.

Key Responsibilities:

• Translate 3D models into 2D drawings using CREO CAD software
• Ensure compliance with drawing and documentation standards
• Collaborate with design teams to resolve discrepancies
• Create and manage Bills of Material (BOMs)
• Use Windchill document management software to maintain revision control
• Communicate effectively with engineers, supervisors, and production teams
• Identify and suggest process improvements
• Support job documentation, troubleshooting, and project prioritization

What You Bring:

• Associate’s degree in Engineering or equivalent experience (0–2 years)
• Familiarity with engineering drawing practices and drafting principles
• Proficiency with CAD software (preferably CREO / Solidworks)
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Basic understanding of engineering math and reasoning skills
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively

Additional Requirements:

• Able to lift up to 50 lbs occasionally and perform physical tasks typical in a manufacturing environment
• Willingness to work overtime as required
