TERRA SONIC – CNC Machinist

Terra Sonic International is a rapidly growing company specializing in the dynamic and diverse sonic drilling industry. Due to growth, we are seeking a CNC Machinist to join our team! Machinists working at Terra Sonic primarily operate lathes and/or mills to produce components for Sonic Drill Rigs and Drill Tooling products.

First and Second shift openings.


Responsibilities:

Support new product sales by setting-up and operating CNC & Manual machine tools

Develops a machining plan based on Blueprint requirements and raw material availability

Selects appropriate tooling and work-holding

Ability to make basic CNC program modifications

Operates equipment in a clean, safe, and efficient manner

Measures machined features to verify compliance with dimensional requirements

Proficient with machining practices and measurement techniques necessary to produce features with tolerances of +/- 0.0005 inches

Maintains equipment by performing preventative maintenance activities

Operate lift trucks and overhead cranes to move raw & machined components

Follow the production plan for machine shop work centers

Logs time and reports materials on digital work orders (ERP system)

Advance safety and quality by following established processes and procedures

Other duties as assigned


 

Education and Experience:

Strong mechanical aptitude

Hands-on experience as a mechanic and/or with equipment containing hydraulic systems

Familiarity with Microsoft Office products

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or

One to three years of related experience and/or training; or

Equivalent combination of education and experience
