Hi-Vac Corporation is seeking candidates for the position of Electrical Technician for day shift. The Electrical Technician performs electrical installation of wiring harnesses, control panels, and electrical components on truck mounted equipment all within a factory environment. The Electrical Technician is responsible for planning layout, installing, repairing wiring, electrical apparatus, and control equipment in the manufacturing of truck units.
 
Specific responsibilities may include but are not limited to:

  • Fundamental understanding of electrical theory and concepts in automotive and commercial truck applications. 
  • Deliver a high-quality installation and mounting of control panels, lights, switches and displays, 
  • Successful Candidates will show pride in their work and are committed to excellence. 
  • Measure, cut, thread, and assemble connections to control panels and junction boxes under the hood, in the dash and throughout the truck chassis and truck body.
  • Testing continuity of circuits to ensure electrical compatibility and safety of components.  
  • Ability to troubleshoot all electrical problems after testing.  Building on your knowledge each time they resolve a problem. 
  • Ensure all activities are completed in a safe manner and the electrical system is safe and installation is safe and secure.


Skills & Experience: 

  • High school diploma or General Education Diploma (GED and
  • Post-Secondary education from a technical trade school or college
  • Related experience and/or training in electrical wiring of trucks or similar experience.
  • Or equivalent combination of education and experience.
