Job DetailsJob Location: KENNESAW, GA 30144Position Type: Full TimeTravel Percentage: NoneJob Shift: DayJob Category: WarehouseThis position is responsible for driving a forklift to load and unload trucks, move materials and all other associated tasks.  This position is also responsible for safely driving of a non-CDL 26’ box truck, and cargo van to designated destinations for equipment, or product pickup or delivery as required Essential Functions and Responsibilities Drive company owned vehicle (cargo van and 26’ non-CDL box truck) to designated destinations for equipment or product pickups as required. Drive vehicle to designated destinations for customer product deliveries in a timely manner.  Drive safely and deliver product within deadlines. Analyze delivery address, determine appropriate routes, and maintain schedule.  Report any accidents or injuries to management immediately.  Load and unload shipment from trucks and trailers.  Ensure that dock is in an orderly shape before and after trucks are unloaded. Utilizing docks, warehouse layout, and the dedicated loading patterns to minimize loading time Ensure proper processing of all outbound shipments including maintaining accurate shipping documents and proper identification of orders loaded onto trucks Perform vehicle inspection before and after each trip.  Notify manager about any major repairs and maintenances.  Work in processing line which includes sorting and place materials or items on racks or shelves in/on appropriate gaylords/pallets for dissemination once scanned according to organizational standards. Follow local and state driving laws and road regulations. Maintain the vehicle clean and safe.  Adhere to company operating policies and procedures.  Provide special care in delivering fragile products. Monitor traffic conditions to avoid delays. Ensure inventory loads match any manifest, or delivery receipts. Communicate with manager as needed to meet customer delivery expectations. Responsible for executing delivery instructions based upon appointment schedule required by customer. Receive all inbound material from trucks. Ensure all shipments arrive complete and damage free. Note any inbound shipment discrepancies on delivery documents. Label all inbound pallets with location/store, date, and project code. Move materials in and out of racks and various locations as assigned. Load trucks according to outgoing shipment documents and loading procedures. Report any issues related to work safety or any abnormal material findings to management. Keep all areas in and near dock and racks in neat and orderly fashion. Maintain clean and safe working environment. Contribute to team effort by completing related tasks efficiently. Read and interpret maps and GPS directions. Other duties as assigned. QualificationsMinimum Qualifications (Education, Experience, SKILLS, and abilities) High school diploma or equivalent combination of training, education, and experience that would provide the required abilities. Valid certification to operate forklifts (or recent within 2 years). 3-5 years of previous warehousing and logistics experience in shipping and receiving Prior experience in a mentoring or leadership role preferred. 1 or more years of experience using Microsoft Office (MS Excel & MS Word) Must be 21 years of age or older Must hold a valid Georgia Driver’s License Must have a driving record in Good Standing. Company will obtain: Department of Motor Vehicle Record (DMV) Must successfully pass Criminal Background check and Drug screening Must have a minimum of 3 years driving experience. Must pass DOT Medical exam Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Diligent attention to safety Ability to establish effective working relationships with peers and superiors, and clients. Must be able to move, lift heavy products Good communication, organizational, and time management skills. Dependable and Reliable. Work Environment Position will be performed in a warehouse environment which requires the ability to drive a forklift, stand for multiple hours in a day in a facility that is exposed to altering degrees of cold and heat.  Physical Demands This position requires extended periods of time working in a warehouse facility. The employee frequently is required to drive a forklift, stand and walk. Requires the use of hands to handle objects and equipment. Frequent holding and grasping with the hands when loading and unloading products. Requires the ability to stock shelves by climbing ladders or stairs; able to bend, twist, stoop, reach and lift/move inventory Duties will require the ability to routinely lift 25 lbs., and occasionally greater than 50 lbs. Vision to determine colors for fulfilling orders.  Frequent use of foot/feet to operate foot pedal/s on equipment and trucks Exposure to bright lights, extreme temperatures, loud noise, dust, gas and/or fumes
