Job Description:

About the Role:
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, and improving a group of machines used to package tea products for consumer consumption. This role supports safe, reliable, and efficient production operations while ensuring compliance with all safety, quality, and Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) standards. You will be performing the following tasks, including but not limited to:

  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on high-speed packaging equipment and supporting production systems.

  • Operate power tools and shop machinery to complete repairs, modifications, and equipment improvements.

  • Troubleshoot mechanical issues and collaborate proactively with managers and production teams to identify and resolve equipment concerns.

  • Read and interpret equipment manuals, SOPs, technical drawings, and blueprints to support maintenance activities.

  • Assemble and disassemble mechanical components including bearings, bushings, gears, sprockets, and related equipment.

  • Follow all company safety requirements, GMP standards, Lockout/Tagout procedures, and quality expectations.

  • Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on equipment reliability, downtime reduction, and operational efficiency.

  • Perform additional duties as assigned.


Important Details:

  • This is a full-time permanent role on the 2nd shift, which operates Monday through Friday, with some Saturdays. Overtime may be available, depending on the needs of the business. The anticipated starting wage rate for this position is $26.55 + $0.60 shift differential

  • Candidates must be willing to work flexible hours, overtime, and weekends as needed to support business operations.

  • The role requires standing and walking for 8-12 hours per shift and routinely lifting up to 25 pounds from waist to chest level.


You’ll fit right in if you have:

  • One to two years of hands-on maintenance experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.

  • Experience maintaining high-speed packaging equipment in consumer food products or pharmaceutical manufacturing.

  • Experience with overhead box conveyor systems and bulk delivery and storage equipment.

  • The ability to use precision measuring tools including calipers, tape measures, and micrometers.

  • Knowledge of the metric system and common units of measurement.

  • The ability to read and comprehend machine manuals, SOPs, technical drawings, and blueprints.

  • Experience assembling and disassembling mechanical components such as bearings, bushings, gears, and sprockets.

  • Knowledge of GMPs, Lockout/Tagout procedures, and workplace safety practices.

  • Food manufacturing experience, machine shop experience, welding experience, or a technical degree/certification is preferred.

  • Electrical troubleshooting knowledge, including experience using multimeters, troubleshooting sensors, motor starters, and related equipment, is considered an asset.
