Join Our Team

We are seeking a dependable and professional Transportation Specialist / Driver to support individuals receiving behavioral health and intellectual/developmental disability (IDD) services within our organization.

This position plays a critical role in ensuring the safe transportation of individuals to medical appointments, community outings, day programs, recreational activities, and other approved destinations while maintaining professionalism, safety, and compliance with DBHDD standards.

Responsibilities

  • Safely transport individuals receiving services to approved destinations

  • Transport medications and packages as needed 

  • Assist with vehicle safety checks and cleanliness

  • Ensure seatbelt and passenger safety compliance

  • Maintain transportation logs and documentation

  • Follow approved routes and transportation schedules

  • Respond professionally during behavioral or emergency situations

  • Communicate effectively with staff, supervisors, families, and providers

  • Report accidents, incidents, or vehicle concerns immediately

  • Support individuals with entry, exit, and community integration activities

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED

  • Valid driver’s license with clean driving record

  • Ability to pass background screening and drug screening

  • Experience working with IDD, behavioral health, or healthcare populations preferred

  • Strong communication and professionalism

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality

Preferred Experience

  • DSP, healthcare, or community support experience

  • CPR/First Aid certification

  • CPI, ACPMA, or behavioral intervention training
