Interns gain valuable exposure to healthcare operations while developing practical skills, professional competencies, and industry insight within a healthcare setting.  Due to Memorial Health System’s not-for-profit status, internships are unpaid. However, students receive meaningful hands-on experience, professional mentorship, and the opportunity to contribute to projects that support the organization’s mission of providing high-quality healthcare to the communities we serve.  Internship placements are based on organizational needs and student areas of study.  Internship opportunities may be available in various departments including, but not limited to: Accounting Biomedical Engineering Corporate Compliance Educational Services Health Information Services Human Resources Marketing  Essential Functions: Assist department staff with projects, research, and administrative tasks related to departmental operations. Participate in experiential learning opportunities that apply academic knowledge to real-world healthcare environments. Support data collection, reporting, and process improvement initiatives as assigned. Observe and learn departmental workflows, policies, and professional practices. Maintain confidentiality and professionalism in accordance with healthcare standards. Complete assigned projects or tasks within designated timeframes. Collaborate with team members and attend meetings or training opportunities as appropriate. QualificationsMinimum Education/Experience Required: Currently enrolled in an accredited college or university. Major or coursework related to the department of interest. Schedule and duration of the internship will be determined based on department needs and student availability.  Special Knowledge, Skills, Training: Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a professional environment.
