The Central Service Technician at Cedars-Sinai Marina del Rey Hospital is a pivotal role responsible for the decontamination, cleaning, processing, and sterilization of supplies and equipment. Responsibilities

• Decontamination and Sterilization: Coordinate the processing of all contaminated instruments and supplies using Plasma or steam sterilization.
• Sterilization Packaging: Apply knowledge of sterilization principles to accurately wrap and package items.
• Clerical Support: Assist with processing department supply charges and other clerical tasks.
• Team Collaboration: Work closely with the Central Lead Technician and assist with the orientation of new personnel.
• Aseptic Techniques: Apply aseptic techniques in daily work assignments.
• Department Maintenance: Perform general cleaning of department surface areas, racks, shelves, storage cabinets, and storage areas.
• Patient Safety: Ensure all aspects of patient care are optimized to reduce medical/health care errors.
• Tray Preparation: Handle and care for instruments, prepare trays, and monitor sterility dates on supplies.
• Maintenance Procedures: Maintain preventive maintenance and control procedures on electrical heating and cooling units.
• Supply Management: Receive, deliver, and fill requisition requests, restock patient care unit supply carts, and reconcile charges.
• Stock Monitoring: Assist with monitoring and maintaining stock in the storeroom, and maintain rental equipment logs.
• Additional Duties: Perform other duties as assigned to support the department's needs.

Shift: 2:00PM - 10:30PM

Qualifications

Education: 

High School Diploma/GED, preferred

Experience: 

One (1) year of experience as a Central Service Technician, preferred
