The RN Clinic supports providers and coordinates care within an interdisciplinary team in an ambulatory setting by applying the nursing process, administering medications within licensure guidelines, delivering and appropriately delegating direct patient care within scope, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. The RN Clinic serves as a key communication link among providers, patients, families, and external partners. The role coordinates care by scheduling referrals, completing required forms and authorizations, and maintains tracking systems for follow-up appointments and procedures to monitor disease status. The RN Clinic upholds quality, safety, and regulatory standards and provides patient and family education, answering questions to promote understanding, adherence, and effective self-care.

Responsibilities

Is aware of department compliance requirements for federally funded healthcare programs (eg. Medicare and Medicaid) regarding fraud, waste and abuse. Brings any questions or concerns regarding compliance to the immediate attention of department or administrative staff.Purposefully conducts all aspects of the job in an ethical manner in support of the organization’s commitment to ethical behavior in all areas of personal and professional activity.Provides care and supervision to adults with physical and cognitive disabilities.  Complete health assessments, medication management, documentation, and consult with physicians as needed.  Demonstrates a positive cooperative attitude, flexibility, and a willingness to change to meet department goals.Performs additional duties as may be assigned to ensure complete service to all customers.

Qualifications

Education

Current RN with Iowa Nursing License.

Qualifications/Experience

Experience working with people with intellectual disabilities, mental illness and/or dementia preferred.
