Role Overview

We're looking for a Part-Time Diesel/Maintenance Technician to keep our Class 8 tractors, chassis, and trailers running safely and on schedule out of our Marion, SC facility. This is a great fit for an experienced diesel tech who wants flexible, part-time hours.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect, maintain, and repair Class 8 tractors, chassis, and trailers

  • Perform routine and DOT-required inspections

  • Diagnose and fix issues with air brake systems, diesel engines, and electrical systems

  • Keep the fleet DOT-compliant and road ready

  • Work with the Transportation Manager and Safety Transportation Manager on repair priorities

  • Help reduce downtime and outside repair costs

  • Keep accurate maintenance and repair records

  • Follow all safety procedures and standards

What Success Looks Like

  • Fleet stays DOT-compliant with no unexpected downtime

  • Repairs are done right the first time

  • Third-party repair costs go down

  • Transportation team trusts the fleet is road ready

Requirements

  • 2+ years of diesel/heavy duty truck and trailer maintenance experience

  • Working knowledge of air brake systems, diesel engines, and electrical systems

  • Familiarity with DOT inspection standards (49 CFR Parts 393/396)

  • Valid CDL Class A driver's license, required

  • Able to lift 50+ pounds

  • Comfortable working in varying weather conditions

  • Able to bend, kneel, and climb as needed
