Software Developer I

Typical Working Hours:
                7:30am to 4:30pm

May be required to work extended hours including holidays and weekends due to the 24 hours, 7 days a week, 365 days a year type of service ESCO provides its clients.


Synopsis:

The Software Developer I is an entry-level position within the Automation division of ESCO Group. This position is best described as assisting in driving project results for internal and external clients. This role will be involved with many aspects of projects, which includes programming, review, and testing as part of a development team. This role requires entry-level software development knowledge along with the capacity to learn adjacent subjects and industry best practices.


Background and Work Experience:

To be considered, candidates should have:

  • Completion of a Bachelor’s degree program in information technology or related discipline from an accredited college, technical school, or university; or
    • A combination of equivalent education and or experience will be considered with solid evidence of success.
  • Demonstrated to be highly proficient with computer technologies including but not limited to, Windows Operating Systems, and the use of Microsoft Office Word, Excel, and Outlook.


Preferred:

  • Basic knowledge of web programming technologies
    • Primary languages are C#, JavaScript, T-SQL
  • Understanding of API integration and data management
  • Understanding of agile methodologies, specifically Scrum

 

Responsibilities and Duties:

The Software Developer I will be responsible for, but not limited to:

  • Develop tools and applications for use internally and with external customers.
  • Configure software products, as appropriate, to meet system requirements and client’s needs.
  • Review and test work completed by others.
  • Review and provide input into user documentation.
  • Utilize, support, and enhance ESCO’s standards and best practices.
  • Understand and follow all safety, conduct, and policy requirements established by ESCO and clients.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned or deemed necessary by management.

Travel Required:

This position may require overnight, out-of-town travel up to 10% of the time.
