Summit Home Care and Hospice is searching for an experienced and motivated STNA to join our Home Health & Hospice teams. At Summit, we believe healthcare should be personal, compassionate, and delivered where it matters most - at home.  State Tested Nursing Assistant (STNA):  Hours: Monday - Friday; Standard Business Hours   Work Setting: On the Road for Patient Visits & Training at the Local Office or Remotely  Territory: ~30-Mile Radius (Mileage Reimbursed)  Pay Rate: $18.00 - $20.00 per Hour + $1,000 sign on bonus  Location: Marion, OH & Surrounding areas  Responsibilities:   As a member of the home care and hospice teams, the STNA will work under the supervision of a Registered Nurse or therapist and perform various personal care services as necessary to meet the patient's needs.   Responsible for observing patients, reporting these observations, and documenting observations and care performed.   Will be assigned by a Registered Nurse in a manner that promotes quality, continuity, and safety of a patient's care.   Provide personal care including, but not limited to the following:    Bathing and/or shampooing hair, assisting with dressing and undressing.   Helping with toileting activities.   Assisting with oral hygiene.   Administering skin care to prevent breakdown and back rubs/massages as necessary.  Changing bed linens and assisting with other laundry as appropriate.   Maintaining a clean and orderly living area for patients, as needed.   Plan and prepare nutritious meals and assist in feeding the patient if necessary.   Take and record oral, rectal, and axillary temperatures, pulse, respiration and blood pressure when ordered (with appropriate completed/demonstrated skills of competency).   Assist in ambulation and exercise according to the plan of care.   Perform range of motion and other simple procedures as an extensional therapy service as ordered (with appropriate completed/demonstrated skills competency).   Assist patients in the self-administration of medication.   Meet the safety needs of patients and use equipment safely and properly (foot stools, side rails, etc.).   Report on patient's condition and significant changes to the assigned nurse.   Adhere to the organization's documentation and care procedures and standards of personal and professional conduct.    May care for patients in home care and hospice departments as the census/caseload allows.     QualificationsQualifications:   Must meet the training and licenses requirements in accordance with state and federal laws of STNA.   Must be at least 18 years of age.    Must be able to read and follow written instructions and document care that is given.   Self-directing with the ability to work with little direct supervision.   Empathy for the needs of the ill, injured, frail and impaired.   Demonstrates tact, patience, and good personal hygiene.     Why Summit?   We offer a well-rounded benefits package to support you both at work and at home.
