Night Bartender Wanted – Canyon Bar & Grill & River Restaurant

Pay: $16.90-$18 per hour (based on experience) plus allocable tips

El Portal Dining, Inc. is seeking an experienced, dependable, and customer-focused Bartender to join our team. This position requires open availability and flexibility to work shifts at both Canyon Bar & Grill and River Restaurant (located on Cedar Lodge and Yosemite View Lodge outside of Yosemite National Park), with the greatest need being Thursday through Sunday, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.  This is an evening position with shifts generally beginning between 4:00 PM and 5:00 PM and ending at close, typically around 10:00 PM.

Position Summary

The Bartender is responsible for providing outstanding guest service while preparing and serving alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages in accordance with company standards and California ABC regulations. This position may be scheduled at either Canyon Bar & Grill or River Restaurant based on business needs.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages accurately and efficiently.
• Provide friendly, professional, and attentive customer service to all guests.
• Verify guest identification and ensure compliance with all California alcohol service laws and company policies.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and fully stocked bar area.
• Process guest orders and payments accurately through the POS system.
• Monitor guest alcohol consumption and refuse service when appropriate in accordance with responsible beverage service practices.
• Prepare garnishes, mixers, and other bar supplies as needed.
• Assist servers and restaurant staff with beverage service during peak periods.
• Perform opening, closing, and side-work duties as assigned.
• Maintain cleanliness standards for bar equipment, glassware, and work areas.
• Communicate effectively with management and team members to ensure smooth operations.
• Support both Canyon Bar & Grill and River Restaurant locations as scheduling needs require.

Qualifications

• Previous bartending experience preferred.
• Ability to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and flexible schedules.
• Open availability, especially Thursday through Sunday.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Must possess or be able to obtain all required California food and alcohol service certifications.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 30 pounds.
