Job Opening: Sr. Quality Control Technician
Location: Marlboro, MA
Role Summary
We are seeking a Senior Quality Control Technician with experience in optical or precision component manufacturing to support inspection, documentation review, and day-to-day quality activities in a high-mix manufacturing environment.
This role is ideal for someone who is detail-oriented but also adaptable and curious, with an interest in expanding their skills beyond inspection into broader quality and process support.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform incoming, in-process, and final inspections of optical components and assemblies
- Verify contract conformity against drawings, specifications, and customer requirements
- Review and maintain quality documentation (inspection records, travelers, certificates)
- Support nonconformance reporting and basic root cause investigations
- Work closely with manufacturing to resolve quality issues quickly and effectively
- Assist with calibration, measurement system upkeep, and inspection equipment
- Contribute ideas to improve inspection methods and quality workflows
Required Qualifications
- 10+ years in QC or inspection within optical manufacturing
- Ability to read and interpret drawings and specifications
- Ability to interpret quality requirements from customer purchase orders and specifications
- Ability to develop and modify work instructions related to product quality operations
- Experience with mechanical and/or optical measurement tools
- Strong attention to detail and documentation discipline
- Experience in high-mix manufacturing
- Direct experience with optical inspection or metrology techniques
- Able to work independently and adapt to changing or evolving priorities
Work Environment
- Role requires extended periods of standing and/or sitting in a clean manufacturing area, wearing proper personal protective equipment including smocks, gloves, and/or safety glasses as required.
- Role requires the ability to transition between multiple process steps and products within a single shift
- Role includes handling and use of chemicals, including the use of proper protective equipment.
