The Senior Program Manager will lead cross-functional teams in the Surgical Division to deliver new medical devices and systems from concept through launch, including expansion of existing products and support of on-market products. This role is accountable for achieving cost, schedule, and performance targets; ensuring adherence to design controls and the Product Development process; coordinating Design History File (DHF) transfers; and providing clear status updates to senior management and key stakeholders.
The incumbent may be asked to perform other function-related activities as reasonably required by business needs.
Knowledge
Technical & Domain Knowledge
- Strong understanding of new product development (NPD) processes for medical devices, including design controls and regulatory expectations.
- Solid engineering fundamentals, with a bachelor’s degree in an Engineering discipline.
- Knowledge of medical device industry standards, quality systems, and design history file (DHF) requirements.
- Familiarity with portfolio planning concepts and project prioritization in a regulated environment.
Project & Program Management Knowledge
- Advanced knowledge of project and program management methodologies, frameworks, and best practices (PMP certification preferred).
- Understanding of PMO structures, governance, and standardized tools/templates (project charters, risk registers/RAID logs, Gantt charts, Work Breakdown Structures, communication plans, etc.).
- Knowledge of budgeting, financial tracking, and cost management for complex projects.

Experience
- 7+ years of experience managing complex NPD, business, commercial, or operations projects in the medical device industry.
- Demonstrated experience leading cross-functional NPD projects in a regulated medical device environment, from concept through commercialization.
- Track record of coordinating Design History File (DHF) activities and ensuring adherence to design controls and product development processes.
- Experience assembling and reporting program metrics, preparing management and client-facing status reports, and communicating deliverables to senior leadership.
- Experience in portfolio planning, development, and prioritization support for a medical device business (preferred).
- Experience mentoring other project/program managers and supporting PMO or project governance initiatives.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in an Engineering discipline (required).
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification (preferred).
- Valid authorization to work in the United States (required).

The annualized base salary range for this role is $138,000 - $230,000 and is bonus eligible. Final compensation packages will ultimately depend on factors including relevant experience, skillset, knowledge, geography, education, business needs and market demand.
