ED provides unscheduled outpatient services to patients whose condition requires immediate care. ED is staffed 24/7/365.Ā  Ā ED provides meaningful work with a wide variety of tasks.Ā  There are lots of learning opportunities, a teamwork-oriented environment and plenty of excitement.Ā  Change is constant and it can often be emotionally taxing and stressful.Ā One to two years of inpatient med/surg or critical care experience is preferred.Ā 

How you'll contribute

An ED RN Director who excels in this role:

  • Develops and implements departmental goals, plans, and standards consistent with the clinical, administrative, legal, and ethical requirements/objectives of the organization.
  • Directs and evaluates departmental operations, including patient care delivery, information technologies, service level determination, and complaint management, to achieve performance and quality control objectives.
  • Plans and monitors staffing activities, including hiring, orienting, evaluating, disciplinary actions, and continuing education initiatives.
  • Prepares, monitors, and evaluates departmental budgets, and ensures that the department operates in compliance with allocated funding. Coordinates and directs internal/external audits.
  • Creates and fosters an environment that encourages professional growth.
  • Integrates evidence-based practices into operations and clinical protocols.
  • Regular and reliable attendance.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

What we're looking for

Applicants should have a current Michigan RN license and possess an bachelor’s degree from an accredited nursing school (master’s preferred).Ā

Additional requirements include

  • Basic Life Support Health Care Provider (BLS-HCP)

  • Handle with Care- Advanced (within 90 days)

  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) (within 1 year)

  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) (within 1 year)

  • Trauma Nurse Core Course (TNCC) (within 1 year)

  • Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course (ENPC) (within 1 year)
