This role involves preparing, serving, and maintaining food and beverage offerings at various college events, ensuring high standards of quality and customer satisfaction. Key Responsibilities: - Prepare and set up food service areas for college events, including buffets, receptions, and meetings. - Serve food and beverages to attendees, ensuring courteous and efficient service. - Maintain cleanliness and organization of catering areas before, during, and after events. - Assist in the preparation of menu items, adhering to food safety and hygiene standards. - Collaborate with the catering team to ensure timely and accurate execution of event requirements. - Respond to guest inquiries and requests in a professional and friendly manner. - Monitor inventory levels and report any shortages or needs to the Catering Manager. - Assist in the setup and breakdown of equipment and supplies for events. - Participate in training sessions to enhance service skills and knowledge of menu offerings. QualificationsRequired Education: - High school diploma or equivalent. Additional culinary or hospitality training is a plus. Required Experience: - Minimum of 1 year of experience in catering, food service, or a related field. - Proven track record of working effectively in a fast-paced environment. - Experience in preparing and serving food to large groups is highly desirable. Required Skills and Abilities: - Strong customer service skills with the ability to interact professionally with clients and guests. - Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. - Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team. - Good communication skills, both verbal and written. - Ability to follow instructions and adhere to health and safety regulations. - Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. - Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and lift heavy items as needed.
