Job DetailsJob Location: MARSHALL, TX 75670Position Summary The Student Affairs Coordinator provides entry-level administrative and clerical support to the Student Affairs division. This role assists in coordinating student activities, maintaining records, supporting campus events, and ensuring smooth day-to-day operations within the department. The position works closely with Student Affairs leadership to enhance the student experience by supporting engagement initiatives, communication efforts, and operational processes. This role is ideal for an individual who is organized, student-focused, and interested in higher education administration. Key Responsibilities Administrative & Clerical Support Maintain and update student records, participation logs, and program documentation Perform data entry and track student engagement activities Assist with filing, scanning, and organizing departmental documents Prepare routine correspondence, reports, and event materials Student Engagement & Programming Support Assist in planning, coordinating, and executing student activities and campus events Support logistics for programs including scheduling, space coordination, and materials preparation Help maintain the campus-wide student activities calendar Track attendance and engagement metrics for events and initiatives Student Support & Front-Line Service Serve as a point of contact for student inquiries, providing information and directing students to appropriate resources Assist students with event registration, participation, and general questions Promote a welcoming and inclusive environment for all students Communication & Outreach Support communication efforts including emails, flyers, and announcements Assist with updating bulletin boards, digital platforms, and event promotions Coordinate reminders and follow-ups for student programs and activities Compliance & Operations Support Ensure student activities and events align with institutional policies and procedures Assist with tracking required forms, waivers, and documentation for events Support audit or reporting needs related to student programming General Office Support Provide general administrative support to the Student Affairs team Assist with special projects and initiatives as assigned Perform other duties as needed to support departmental goals QualificationsQualifications Minimum Requirements High school diploma or equivalent required 0–2 years of administrative, clerical, or customer service experience Strong organizational skills and attention to detail Excellent interpersonal and communication skills Ability to work effectively with a diverse student population Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) Preferred Qualifications Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Education, Student Affairs, Business Administration, or related field (in progress or completed) Prior experience in a college/university setting or student-facing role Experience assisting with event planning or coordination Key Competencies Student-Centered Mindset Organization & Time Management Communication Skills Customer Service Orientation Team Collaboration Initiative & Adaptability Working Conditions Office environment with frequent interaction with students May require evening or occasional weekend hours to support student events Why This Role Matters The Student Affairs Coordinator plays a key role in fostering a vibrant campus experience by supporting student engagement, programming, and services.
