Responsibilities
- Review and verify medication orders to ensure accuracy, safety, and appropriateness before dispensing
- Evaluate patient medication profiles to support optimal therapeutic outcomes
- Provide medication counseling, drug information, and clinical consultation to patients and care teams
- Partner with physicians, nurses, and pharmacy staff to promote safe, effective medication use
- Support daily pharmacy operations, including medication distribution and workflow coordination
- Ensure compliance with state, federal, and organizational pharmacy regulations
- Maintain accurate medication and controlled substance records
- Help uphold quality improvement initiatives that enhance pharmacy services and patient safety
- Provide guidance and oversight to pharmacy technicians, interns, and support staff as needed
Qualifications
Education:
- Graduate of an ACPE-accredited School of Pharmacy with a Bachelor's of Science degree in Pharmacy.
License(s)/Certification(s):
- Obtain Iowa Pharmacist License within 90 days of Hire
