Department Details

This position will be in histology and cytology. The hours are 2am-10:30am. Histology/ Cytology are flexible in regards to time off and changing hours. Working in cytology and histology allows for a person to learn more and has the potential for future growth. This position does work with specimens and body fluids. Weekends are required for histology but it is about one Saturday every 2 months.

Summary

Responsibilities include collecting, preparing and processing specimens biological specimens. This would be a shared position between histology and cytology.

Job Description

Assists in performing laboratory activities and other assigned tasks. Aids in preparing laboratory specimens and supplies. May be responsible for entering laboratory orders and results. Ensures the accuracy and quality of laboratory data in a safe and professional work environment.

Qualifications

High school diploma or General Educational Development Diploma (GED) preferred.



Completion of a formal phlebotomy program, phlebotomy experience, and experience in a laboratory-related field preferred. May be required to have Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
