JOB SUMMARY

The Registered Nurse Acute Team Lead (TL) functions as a vital member of the healthcare team by demonstrating a customer/patient focus, effective communication, professionalism and self-development, and teamwork. The individual utilizes the nursing process to assess, plan, implement and evaluate comprehensive care provided to selected patient populations and their families.  The Registered Nurse Acute TL is expected to demonstrate excellent clinical, problem-solving, interpersonal and leadership skills and make decisions consistent with hospital policies, department protocols/guidelines, and the Wisconsin Nurse Practice Act.  This individual provides guidance to facilitate optimal department operations, oversee technical functions and oversee workflow responsibilities to ensure safe and effective patient care.  The Registered Nurse Acute TL is a role model and facilitator working in collaboration with various levels of department personnel.  

JOB QUALIFICATIONS  

EDUCATION For positions requiring education beyond a high school diploma or equivalent, educational qualifications must be from an institution whose accreditation is recognized by the Council for Higher Education and Accreditation.
Minimum Required: Diploma or degree in nursing.  

Preferred/Optional: Bachelor’s degree in nursing.  

EXPERIENCE  

Minimum Required: Two years’ experience in medical or nursing related field. Demonstrated Knowledge in Microsoft Office Suite. Demonstrated leadership abilities. Written and verbal communication skills.  

Preferred/Optional: One year of experience in a team leader role.  

CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES   The following licensure(s), certification(s), registration(s), etc., are required for this position.  Licenses with restrictions are subject to review to determine if restrictions are substantially related to the position.

Minimum Required:

 • Current State of Wisconsin Registered Nurse License or Nurse Compact License.  

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification awarded by the American Heart Association (AHA) within three months of hire.   •

Additional department-specific certifications, licenses, or memberships may be required (varies by department/location).  

Preferred/Optional: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification awarded by the American Heart Association (AHA) at time of hire.
