Description

Hours:

Monday-Thursday 5am-3:30pm

Friday (when in overtime) 5am-10am/Noon


Summary:

A Welder II joins, fabricates, and repairs metal and other weldable material by applying appropriate welding techniques. Reviews blueprints, specifications, diagrams or schematics to determine appropriate welding process. Cleans and inspects completed welds to determine structural soundness.

 

Principle Duties and Areas of Responsibility:

  • MIG welding with the ability to weld components as specified
  • Produce various items and equipment according to H&S approved processes using fabricating and welding techniques and equipment 
  • Prepares parts and part surfaces, assembles, tacks, and welds parts together per print
  • Maintains the work area and equipment in a clean, orderly condition and follows prescribed safety procedures
  • Notifies Lead when faulty equipment or defective materials are discovered
  • Adheres to company quality protocols and processes
  • Perform job duties in an ethical, professional manner which is consistent with the H&S handbook
  • Performs other related duties as assigned by management
  • Perform duties with safety first quality mind set

Skills and Abilities:

  • Performs daily duties with minimal supervision
  • Has the ability to efficiently read, interpret, and weld a good part from the weld print
  • Consistently welds tier two parts to standard using work instructions 
  • Ability to operate precision measuring devices such as calipers, micrometers, protractors, and tape measures
  • Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm





Requirements

Qualifications:

  • 1-3 years of related work experience
  • Must be able to demonstrate welding ability by passing an in-house weld test with a score of 80 or higher
