The VA NSOC defends, manages, and monitors the network operating status and cyber security posture of the VA by providing the day-to-day management, operation and configuration of the enterprise network infrastructure, Internet Gateways, the delivery of enterprise security systems and services, the monitoring and reporting of security incidents, the conduct of threat and vulnerability analysis, the validation of adequate security controls within the enterprise and the full range of functions across the spectrum of activities relating to incident management, incident response and enterprise network management.Â
The Asset Manager manages the complete lifecycle of assets / Configuration Items (CIs) from procurement (start), to decommissioning (finish). As the subject matter expert for logistics, performs and coordinates detailed logistics analysis of IT assets, provides logistics support, implements and evaluates the logistic goals and priorities for the CRRC VA Network & Security Operations Center. Â

Responsibilities
Actively participates as required in support projects of major scope and complexity. Advises the VA-NSOC in the area of logistics operations; develops logistics methods & procedures in the areas of asset control, inventory management, accountability; oversees the coordination, determination, redistribution and implements tactical standard operating procedures for reutilization and disposal of IT excess equipment. Â
- Manage MAC tickets via Service Now (Moves, Adds, Changes)Â
- Shipping and Receiving of Assets (Logistics)Â
- Perform audits of all IT assets within the VA-NSOC (Annual Inventories)Â Â
- Able to adapt and utilize ERP systems to create and modify configured itemsÂ
- Monitor all IT assets from procurement through disposition for compliance to VA policiesÂ
- Special ProjectsÂ
- Experience with large asset management and logistics environmentÂ
- Moderate skills using the Microsoft Office Suite, proficient in use of Excel spreadsheetsÂ
- Moderate skills using a ticketing system.Â
- Install, remove and transport server equipmentÂ
- General technical understanding of network equipment and functions, datacenter operationsÂ
- Follow schematics to coordinate a proper installation of hardware for networking devicesÂ
- Determines logistics support sequences and time phasingÂ
- Good writing and interpersonal skills Â
Qualifications
- Education / Experience:  Bachelor’s with 0 - 2 years (or commensurate experience)Â
- Physical Requirements: Sits up to 6 hours per day using close vision, repetitive wrist, hand or finger movement (to operate computer equipment), lifts up to 50 pounds. Â
- Travel:  25% of time Â
- Background Investigation: Must be able to pass a government Tier 2 Moderate Background InvestigationÂ
