Shenandoah Pharmacy is looking for a Pharmacy Cashier to join our team here at Shenandoah Community Health!
JOB SUMMARY:
The Pharmacy Cashier runs the pharmacy cash register, sells dispensed medications and over-the-counter items, offers exceptional customer service, and performs other related duties as required, while under the direct supervision of a registered Pharmacist.Â
SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Â
- Records cash/charge/check transactions in the cash register; closes out cash receipts at the end of the day and matches reports generated with the day’s receipts; turns over the day’s receipts to the business office.
- Communicates a helpful attitude towards pharmacy patients, and provides all customers with a positive experience.
- Maintains inventory of over-the-counter medications and related items for sale to patients.
- Maintains registers and reports for control of Schedule II, III, IV and V drugs.
- Maintains strict confidentiality that is consistent with HIPAA guidelines and regulations.
- Assists pharmacy technicians in maintaining the pharmacy prescription “will call” bin of prescriptions ready for pick-up.
- Develops and maintains a strong rapport with Medical System staff.
- Supports clinical quality improvement programs that utilize generally accepted quality measurement tools.
- Supports clinical compliance activities to ensure Shenandoah Community Health meets or exceeds the expectations of external reviewers and accreditation programs.
- Ensures clinician support of and compliance with Shenandoah Community Health policies and procedures.
- Achieves the support of community clinicians, health care entities, and health care advocates for Shenandoah Community Health and its mission.
- Completes other related duties as may be assigned.

REQUIRED SKILL AND EXPERIENCE:
- Possesses High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Is of at least 18 years of age.
- Possesses valid drivers’ license/government ID as required.
- Has sufficient prior experience running a cash register.
- Demonstrates excellent customer service skills.
- Demonstrates a positive work ethic and attitude.
- Exhibits keen attention to detail.
