How you’ll contributeĀ 

AĀ Respiratory Therapist who excels in this role:

  • Delivers routine therapy as delegated by a therapist.

  • Responds to codes and calls for emergent assistance.Ā 

  • Assesses patient condition and delivers appropriate treatment.

  • Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition.

  • Educates the patient and family about the patient's illness and provides information about community support groups and other resources.

What we’re looking forĀ 
Applicants should have an associate’s degree and be a graduate of a program in Respiratory Care Therapy.

Ā 

Additional requirements include:

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) or CPR Coach Certification.
  • Licensed by the Commonwealth of Virginia, to practice as a Respiratory Care Practitioner.
  • Certification by the American Heart Association in Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation Basic Life Support.
  • Registered or Certified by the National Board for Respiratory Care (RRT) or (CRT).
  • One year of critical care experience, including hemodynamic monitoring, bronchoscopy assistance, mechanical ventilation set-up, management, and patient care assessment.
  • One year of routine respiratory care experience.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) American Heart Association required or within six (6) months of hire.
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) American Heart Association required or within six (6) months of hire.

  • Critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
