Summary

The Senior Accountant is responsible for supporting the month-end close process, ensuring the accuracy and completeness of financial records, and maintaining balance sheet integrity. This role requires independent judgment, ownership of key accounting areas, and the ability to investigate and resolve discrepancies.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

1. Utilize NetSuite and other systems to manage financial data, reporting, and transaction processing

2. Prepares and reviews journal entries as part of the monthly close process

3. Investigates and resolves discrepancies, including cash application, unidentified payments, and intercompany balances

4. Supports and contributes to the month-end close process, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of financial reporting

5. Reviews accounts receivable and accounts payable activity, following up on outstanding or unusual items

6. Owns intercompany transactions, including reconciliation and settlement

7. Coordinates with internal teams and external parties (customers, banks, vendors) to resolve accounting issues

8. Identifies process improvements and drives efficiencies within accounting operations

9. Owns bank reconciliations, ensuring all cash accounts are accurately reconciled and differences are investigated and resolved in a timely manner.

10. Owns the royalty calculation process, ensuring accurate calculation, reporting, and reconciliation of royalty obligations.

11. Ensures timely application of cash and resolution of unapplied or unidentified payments

12. Assists with audit requests and prepares supporting documentation as needed

13. Owns the fixed asset accounting process, including asset capitalization, depreciation, disposals, and periodic reconciliation of fixed asset records.

14. Ensures compliance with accounting policies and internal controls

Other Duties

Other duties may be assigned. As part of a small and collaborative team environment, employees are expected to support general office operations and administrative needs as required.

Qualifications

Ā· 5+ years of accounting experience with strong general ledger and close experience

Ā· Experience with ERP systems (NetSuite preferred)

Ā· Strong understanding of month-end close and account reconciliation processes

Ā· Ability to work independently and resolve complex accounting issues

Ā· Strong attention to detail with analytical and problem-solving skills

Ā· Experience working with intercompany transactions and cash application preferred

Ā· Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field

Education/Experience

Bachelor’s degree (B. A.) from four-year College or university; and or 5 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience

Ability to use the MicrosoftĀ® Office suite of programs, Adobe Acrobat, and other office and software.
