Hours for this position include: Monday 4pm - 9pm, Tuesday 4pm - 9p, Wednesday 4pm - 9p, Thursday 4pm - 9p and Friday 4pm - 9pm The Custodian is dedicated to fulfilling the Jewish Community Center’s (the J’s) mission of enriching lives, building community, promoting inclusivity, and creating meaningful Jewish experiences. Responsibilities: Custodian responsibilities focusing primarily on the Pavilion and Pool Deck Must be able to work independently and well with others. Launder, fold and restock towels. Mop, sweep and scrub floors and other surfaces as needed. Ongoing cleaning and servicing of restrooms and locker rooms.  Frequent restocking of consumables, towels, and toiletries. Report items that require repair. Transport items throughout the J as needed. (i.e., meals, packages, mail, etc.) Follow and abide by all J rules and policies. Report any issue that you cannot resolve but requires attention. Other duties as assigned by supervisor. Physical Demands: Must pass pre-employment physical. Work is performed while standing, sitting and/or walking. Must be able to spend majority of shift walking, twisting, bending, pushing, stooping, and pulling. Must be able to stand and exert well-paced mobility.  Requires the ability to communicate effectively. Requires bending, squatting, crawling, climbing, reaching. Requires the ability to lift, carry, push, or pull objects not to exceed 50+ lbs. Must be able to lift 50 lbs. on a regular and continuing basis. Most tasks are performed indoors. Temperature is moderate and controlled by building environmental systems; however, laundry staff must be able to work in extreme temperatures found in laundry rooms (+80F), possibly for one hour or more. QualificationsQualifications: Grade School graduation High School Diploma/GED preferred. Must be capable of working in a fast-paced environment with multiple interruptions. Prior related experience preferred. Must possess basic computational ability. General knowledge of basic cleaning chemicals and their safety is a plus. Must be attentive to details with outstanding internal and external customer service skills. Flexible schedule to allow for weekend and evening work is required. Able to volunteer to work set up and tear down for events. May require adjusting hours or time outside of normal business hours. Commitment to the inclusive mission of the J.
