Job DetailsJob Location: Maryville, IL 62062Position Type: Full Time (80 Hours)Salary Range: $45.45 - $74.90 HourlyJob Shift: DaysJob Category: LeadershipJob Summary:  Assumes responsibility and accountability for all administrative and operational functions regarding the safe provision of patient care for his/her department.  Demonstrates the integration of a system theory approach through assessment, goal setting and outcome evaluation. Ensures that all patient care provided meets regulatory, professional, and specialty standards/requirements.  Responsible for assuring that all staff is competent to accomplish the assigned duties. Holds fiscal accountability for department budget. Must possess the managerial and leadership capabilities to promote professional autonomy and growth among all staff and to provide an environment for medical and nursing collaboration for provision of efficient and effective patient care.  Participates in other multidisciplinary teams to achieve and promote the Hospital’s mission and goals.  Practices autonomously and in accordance with professional nursing standards, within the parameters of the Illinois Nurse Practice Act, and within the policies and procedures of Anderson Hospital.   Job Responsibilities: Demonstrates knowledge in clinical care and procedures in responsible department. Demonstrates computer skills and technical competency. Assures development and implementation of performance improvement activities, including monitoring, evaluating and developing action plans. Actively facilitates participation in State sponsored initiatives.   Possesses authority to extend offers of employment, termination of employment, and conduct performance evaluations and/or counselings. Develops unit operational and capital budgets. Establishes and maintains unit staffing needs utilizing professional standards as available.  Contributes to the delivery of cost effective care by maximizing nursing staff productivity and utilizing resources appropriately. Provides for educational needs of staff including orientation, inservices, and skills competency. Develops nursing department goals which support the hospital mission and organizational objectives. Supports staff nurse involvement in decision making, nursing activities and participation in meetings. Supports research and evidence-based practices, assuring integration into the delivery of nursing care. Participates in continuing education and professional development activities. Seeks additional knowledge and skills appropriate to the practice setting by developing and/or participating in educational programs and activities, conferences, professional meetings, and self-directed learning. Shares knowledge and skills with colleagues and others, acting as a role model/mentor. Utilizes effective communication skills in interactions with employees, medical staff,  customers and peers and promotes teamwork. Demonstrates support for and contribution to the Nursing Strategic Plan. Assumes responsibilities for other duties assigned by the Chief Nursing Officer. QualificationsEducation Requirements and Other Requirements:                 Education Level:  BSN or actively pursuing, MSN preferred.                           Certification/Licensure:  Specialty certification preferred.  BLS certification and NRP required                 within 1 year.                              Experience Requirements: Minimum of 5 years clinical experience required; management experience preferred.
