Job Summary: The speech/language pathologist is responsible for providing safe and effective delivery of patient care through assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of patient and family needs within the parameters of the Illinois Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology Practice Act in order to deliver care promoting optimal recovery and rehabilitation. The speech/language pathologist promotes safe and effective care to all age groups. The speech/language pathologist coordinates care with the physician and any others involved in the patient’s care.Â

Job Responsibilities:
- The speech therapist is responsible for the patients assigned to her/him. The speech therapist is responsible for assessing patient and family needs in order to promote the best care the department can give for recovery and rehabilitation.Â
Qualifications
Education Requirements and Other Requirements:
Education Level: Meets education and experience required for certification of clinical competence in Speech Pathology granted by the American Language and Hearing Association.Â
        Certification/Licensure: Current license in the State of Illinois.
        Experience Requirements: One year experience required in a health care setting.Â
        Other Requirements: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are necessary.
