The Wash Bay Manager oversees a team of part-time vehicle detailers and ensures all vehicles are cleaned, prepared, and maintained to the highest standards. This role is critical in delivering a safe, clean, and ready-to-drive experience for customers participating in off-road activities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise a team of approximately four detailers, including scheduling, performance oversight, and ensuring timely, high-quality work.
  • Coordinate staffing needs for daily operations, special events, and rapid fleet turnaround requirements.
  • Perform and oversee thorough vehicle cleaning and preparation, including exterior, interior, undercarriage, and engine bay.
  • Inspect vehicles for safety concerns; identify and report warning lights, damage (vehicle, windshield, tires), and remove vehicles from service as needed.
  • Fuel and stage vehicles to ensure readiness for customer use.
  • Maintain a clean, organized work environment and ensure supplies are stocked and readily available.
  • Identify and report unsafe or hazardous conditions in the work area.
  • Ensure team compliance with personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements and proper use of cleaning and sanitization supplies.
  • Maintain cleanliness of parking areas and back-of-house spaces.
  • Follow all company policies, procedures, and safety standards.
  • Model company values in all interactions with customers, team members, and partners.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • At least 1 year of supervisory or management experience in vehicle detailing or a related field.
  • Ability to drive a manual transmission vehicle preferred.
  • Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
  • Availability to work extended hours, including weekends and holidays.
  • Ability to work in varying weather conditions and adapt to changing environments.
  • Strong attention to detail, reliability, and punctuality.
  • Ability to take direction and respond constructively to feedback.
  • Professional appearance and conduct.
  • Ability to work independently, exercise sound judgment, and solve problems effectively.
  • Strong teamwork skills and a positive attitude.

Physical Requirements & Work Environment

  • Work is primarily performed outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds occasionally.
  • Visual requirements include close vision and the ability to adjust focus, including while operating a vehicle.
  • Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed to meet operational demands.
