The mission of the role is to receive, store, and distribute material, tools, equipment, and products within Promat’s warehouse. The ideal candidate will help ensure smooth daily operations by accurately handling inventory and contributing to a safe, organized, and productive work environment.
What you’ll do:
- Assist shipping and receiving with unloading trucks, checking in merchandise, matching purchase orders to sales orders, and distributing to sales associates for processing.
- Operate forklift. Rotate products using oldest code/expiration date.
- Read customer orders, work orders, shipping orders, or requisitions, to determine items to be moved, gathered, or distributed and/or shipped.Â
- Move materials and items from receiving or storage areas to shipping or to other designated areas.Â
- Sort and place materials or items on racks, shelves, or in bins according to predetermined sequence such as size, type, style, color, or product code.Â
- Fill requisitions, work orders, or requests for materials, tools, or other stock items and distribute items to shipping or to designated route driver storage area.Â
- Ensure warehouse is accessible and safe for salespeople and customer traffic.Â
- Assemble customer orders from stock and places orders on pallets or shelves or relocating orders to a holding area or shipping department.Â
- Mark materials with identifying information using appropriate methods.Â
- Open bales, crates, and other containers.Â
- Record amounts of materials or items received or distributed via appropriate computer program.Â
- Assist in counting of physical inventory.Â
- Weigh and count items for distribution within plant to ensure conformance to company standards.Â
- Prepare parcels for mailing.Â
- Sweep, dust, and mop.Â
- Organize warehouse and work area for orderliness at all times.Â
- Wear proper safety equipment.
What you’ll bring:
- Must have at least one year of related warehouse experience.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
- Experience operating a forklift. Forklift certification preferred.
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
- One year or more related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.Â
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.Â
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.Â
- Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing, to safely perform job duties and collaborate with team members.
- Ability to perform work thoroughly and accurately while maintaining a high level of quality.
- Demonstrates strong organizational and time management skills to support efficient warehouse operations and material flow.
- Committed to meeting the needs of internal and external customers through responsive communication, accuracy, and dependable service.
Physical Demands:Â The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 20 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move more than 100 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation. This position requires the ability to perform physical warehouse activities, including standing, walking, bending, reaching, and handling materials throughout the workday. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects; reach with hands and arms; and talk and hear. The employee frequently is required to stand, walk, and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee is occasionally required to sit, climb, and balance.
