POSITION SUMMARY
This position provides comprehensive psychiatric evaluation, diagnosis, medication management, and ongoing treatment for individuals experiencing mental health and co-occurring substance use disorders. Working collaboratively within an integrated behavioral healthcare team, this position delivers patient-centered care across outpatient and inpatient settings while supporting coordinated treatment planning, medication-assisted treatment (MAT), and evidence-based practices. This position contributes to Prairie Ridge's mission by promoting recovery, improving access to quality behavioral healthcare, and helping individuals achieve lasting wellness
TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist in the development and delivery of psychiatric services at Prairie Ridge Integrated Behavioral Healthcare
- Perform psychiatric care duties, including conducting histories and physical examinations; ordering and interpreting diagnostic and therapeutic tests; prescribing appropriate pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic treatments; implementing interventions; and monitoring treatment effectiveness.
- Complete documentation, coding, authorizations, and billing activities in accordance with generally accepted medical standards.
- Collaborate and coordinate care with the Prairie Ridge treatment team to develop and implement appropriate behavioral health treatment plans for patients in both inpatient and outpatient settings.
- Understand and utilize Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) in the treatment of substance use disorders, as appropriate.
- Participate in research as requested.
- Monitor and initiate processes that promote cost-effective and efficient delivery of care.
- Advise and assist in the coordination of staff wellness activities.
- Demonstrate understanding of and compliance with all CARF, HIPAA, and 42 CFR Part 2 standards, policies, and procedures.
- Participate in activities necessary to support the development and implementation of coordinated care initiatives at Prairie Ridge.

QUALIFICATIONS
RequiredÂ
- Current Iowa license as an Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner (ARNP) or Physician Assistant (PA).
- Current Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) certification for ARNP candidates or current NCCPA certification for PA candidates.
- Current DEA registration and Iowa Controlled Substance Registration with prescriptive authority, as applicable to professional licensure.
- Supportive of the mission of Prairie Ridge and the patients we serve.
- Strong oral and written communication skills, including the ability to complete accurate clinical documentation.
- Proficiency in the use of electronic health records and other healthcare technology.
Preferred
- Experience providing psychiatric care in an integrated behavioral healthcare setting.
- Experience treating individuals with co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders.
- Experience working in community mental health.
- Experience collaborating as part of a multidisciplinary treatment team.
