In this hands-on role, you will inspect, polish, and finish mold cavities, cores, and tooling components to exact specifications, ensuring optimal mold performance and exceptional part quality. Working closely with Mold Makers, this position ensures tooling meets quality standards by inspecting for defects, understanding critical mold features, and producing precision finishes that support optimal mold performance and part quality. The Mold Polisher also maintains polishing equipment and supplies while promoting a safe, clean, and organized work environment. Responsibilities: Inspect mold cavities, cores, and tooling components for defects, imperfections, or damage prior to polishing. Review each job with the assigned Mold Maker to understand critical surfaces, finish requirements, and areas requiring special attention. Polish mold cavities, cores, inserts, and other tooling components to specified surface finish requirements using appropriate polishing techniques and equipment. Verify that finished surfaces meet quality expectations and report any concerns or abnormalities to the Mold Maker or Supervisor. Order, organize, and maintain polishing supplies, compounds, abrasives, and equipment to ensure availability and proper condition. Perform routine care and maintenance of polishing equipment. Follow all company safety policies and procedures, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE). Work collaboratively with Mold Makers and other team members to support tooling repairs, maintenance, and production priorities. Maintain a safe, organized, and professional work environment. Perform additional duties as need to support business operations and customer satisfaction. QualificationsRequired Education/Skills/Abilities: Highschool diploma or equivalent Previous polishing, machining, manufacturing, or tool room experience is preferred. Basic knowledge of polishing abrasives, stones, rotary cutters, mounted points, and related polishing materials; familiarity with benching tools such as hand grinders, files, and similar equipment. Ability to safely operate all required polishing equipment, including ultrasonic polishers/profilers and related equipment. A team-oriented mindset with strong communication skills. High attention to detail and strong commitment to quality work. Strong communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively.
