RN is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating individualized patient care delivery. Our RN provides clinical leadership to the patient care team for the assigned shift.

Responsibilities

  • Provides performance feedback to team members input to Manager/Director regarding appraisals.
  • Planning - Develops a plan that prescribes strategies to attain expected, measurable outcomes.
  • Coordination of Care- Plans and evaluates care in collaboration with appropriate disciplines for assigned patients.
  • Documents and reports care delivered to the physicians and other team members as needed.
  • Knowledge - In collaboration with Leader/Director, actively pursues required knowledge and skills through orientation activities specific to the unit, unit based in-service programs, reading current literature and seeking new clinical learning opportunities.
  • Provides leadership and supervision to health care team during assigned shift.
  • Implementation - Implements care and supervises care delivered by other team members in alignment with the plan of care and approved safety and infection control standards
  • Diagnosis - Analyzes assessment data to determine actual or potential diagnosis, problems, and issues.
  • Relationships - Establishes effective working relationships with peers, physicians, and other members of the health care team. Identifies and confers with appropriate resources regarding patient care decisions.

  • Evaluation- Evaluates progress toward attainment of goals and outcomes. Reports data and outcomes to as appropriate to physician and/or other disciplines.
  • In collaboration with Patient Care Leader/Director, actively pursues required knowledge and skills through orientation activities specific to the unit, unit based inservice programs, reading current literature, seeking new clinical learning opportunities.
  • Assessment- Collects pertinent data and information relative to the patient's health or the situation. Recognizes normal and abnormal findings when gathering data.
  • Assesses patients' conditions and care delivery through direct observation, rounding, and data input from other team members.
  • Coordinates bed and patient care assignments during shift and in preparation for the next shift to ensure consistency in care delivery.
  • Outcomes Identification - Identifies expected outcomes for a plan individualized to the patient or situation.
  • Enhances professional growth through classes related to communication, teaching, stress management, conflict resolution, team building annually. (This is in addition to required unit/patient specific education.)
  • Serves as strong, positive role model for other health care team members.
  • Teaching - Employs teaching strategies to promote health and a safe environment


Requirements

  • ADN [Required]
  • ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support W/I 90 Days [HIGHLY PREFERRED]
  • BLS or CPR certification within 90 days of hire. [HIGHLY PREFERRED]
  • NRP - Neonatal Resuscitation Program Certification (within 1 year of hire) – Sarah Bush Lincoln [REQUIRED]
  • RN-Registered Nurse - Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation [REQUIRED]
  • 3 years Labor and Delivery experience [REQUIRED]
