Speech/Language Pathologist HourlyJob Description
Speech/Language Pathologists provide individualized treatment programs for patients exhibiting speech-language, voice and/or swallowing problems, based on evaluation and assessment of problem. Provides services in hospital and various outreach sites, which may include long-term care facilities, schools, clinics, and homes.

Hours: PRN (As needed) Assistant with weekend coverage.

Required: MS Degree, IL Licensed Speech and Language Pathologist, BLS within 90 days of hire
Pay: Based on experience, starting at $35.43
Responsibilities
Accurately prepares reports of diagnostic findings, treatments and progress., Carries out treatment as planned utilizing appropriate manual techniques and available equipment and/or modalities. Reassesses and modifies treatments as appropriate. , Conducts inservice education programs and participates in community service programs as requested., Conducts thorough assessment of each patient to determine most appropriate method of treatment, Develops care plans., Documents treatment and plans of care efficiently and effectively in order to best describe client progress toward established goals and to assure compliance with professional and regulatory standards related to general reporting and reimbursement issues., Effectively collaborates/communicates with other members of the health care team in order to coordinate plans of care and optimize patient outcomes., Effectively coordinates schedule and assignments in order to assure maximum productivity, efficiency, and meets deadlines and commitment to customers including patients, other physical medicine staff members and other members of the health care team. , Maintains and consistently demonstrates competency in all areas of assigned client care needs and seeks out additional information, inservices or educational opportunities to remain competent and current., Maintains and correctly utilizes departmental equipment (i.e., VisiPitch, electrolarynx, augmentative communication devices, dictating units, etc.), Provides education to patients and families regarding: the nature of the disorder, recommendations for treatment, and the functional effects of the disorder., Provides effective supervision to graduate students during their internship., Provides individualized education to clients and significant others or care givers as applicable. Includes information appropriate to level of education/comprehension related to underlying pathology, rationale for specific instructions, contraindications, side effects (if any), and consequences for variances in compliance. Documents according to professional, regulatory and Health Center standards. , Upon licensure, performs duties independently with little or no direct supervision as well as take responsibility to supervise clinical practice of assistant or aide level staff members of the department.Requirements
