Vital Health is looking for a Medical Office Assistant to join our team who will assist with the essential day-to-day operational functions in our office and who will provide support for the clinical staff in our primary care, mental health, and substance use disorders programs.
The perfect candidate for this position will have a "sunny" disposition, a positive outlook and be able to interact effectively with all types of people. Self-direction, ability to multi-task and attention to detail are essential. This is a full time Monday through Friday position.
 
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Prepare the office for patient appointments
  • Keep waiting room in order and hospitality cart stocked
  • Greet patients and provide assistance with check-in
  • Answer telephones, take messages and/or transfer calls
  • Schedule patient appointments
  • Sort incoming mail, prepare outgoing mail and faxes
  • Prepare memos and letters
  • Update calendar events and schedule meetings
  • Track and order office supplies
  • Enter data in the electronic health record
  • Assist with patient referrals and follow-up with other providers
  • Assist with insurance pre-authorization process
  • Maintain and compile information in medical records and charts
Requirements
2+ years' experience working in the healthcare field
2+ years' experience in medical office administration
Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
Superior customer service skills
High level of professionalism
Computer literate, punctual and organized
Accuracy and attention to detail
