Spicer Group is seeking an experienced Drinking Water / Wastewater leader to serve as Regional Manager for Ohio. This role is designed for a professional who is deeply connected to the region and someone who understands the municipalities, utilities, regulators, funding programs, and stakeholders that shape infrastructure decisions across Ohio. Â
This role ensures profitability and financial health of the region, leads strategic planning efforts aligned with company goals, and drives growth through client engagement, business development, and cross‑selling opportunities. This position plays a key role in strengthening client relationships, expanding market presence, and ensuring technical and operational excellence across the region, while upholding Spicer Group’s core values and commitment to service quality.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Project and Financial Management
Responsible for overall financial health and performance of drinking water / wastewater within Ohio, including budget, investment allocation, and profitability as directed by the senior vice president
Guide growth strategy for drinking water / wastewater service line —identifying market opportunities and aligning resources to meet future demand
Executes risk management strategy; identifies and mitigates risk to Ohio operations, financial stability, and reputation
Defines and analyzes problems in a timely manner and makes expedient, consistent decisions
Serves as project manager on large multidisciplinary projects
 Strategic Planning and Communication
Takes direction from designated regional vice president, director, senior vice president, and/or executive vice president on company goals and vision
Participates in Regional Strategic Planning Committee and offers drinking water /wastewater market share growth strategy
Establishes and maintains effective communications between technical service areas
Holds regular group meetings to coordinate workload distribution
Executes regional business development focused on drinking water / wastewater and coordinates upstream effortsÂ
 Client Engagement
Support and understand client challenges, funding realities, and long‑range plans, connecting them with the right Spicer Group technical expertise to deliver value over time
Development and execution of client maintenance plans
Development of new clients within Ohio Â
You will maintain and grow strong relationships for municipalities, authorities, and utility owners; State and regional agencies; Industry partners, contractors, and funding stakeholders
Serves as client manager on projects as assigned by the regional/senior vice president
Engage with local government and industry stakeholders to influence policies and secure project opportunities
Performs community engagement within Ohio
Implement mechanisms to collect and analyze client feedback, using insights to refine drinking water / wastewater offerings and improve client experience
Your reputation and relationships will help position Spicer Group early in project planning conversations and long‑term infrastructure programs
Responsible for drinking water / wastewater service line growth within Ohio and collaborate with others to identify/pursue cross-selling opportunities
 Collaboration and Leadership
Provide leadership for drinking water and wastewater services across Ohio, ensuring projects are delivered with technical excellence, sound judgment, and a strong understanding of local conditions, regulations, and client expectations
Collaborate with drinking water / wastewater leaders to assemble the right teams for complex projects
Partner with directors to ensure technical excellence and compliance with industry standards, codes, and regulations for all technical service areas
Works with directors to compile project teams and pursue regionally-vetted work
May supervise employees, including completing annual performance reviews, managing attendance, and performance management
Lead, mentor, and develop drinking water / wastewater professionals within the firm - creating an environment where people are challenged, supported, and proud of their work
Collaborate with other regional managers to share best practices, align strategies, and pursue cross-regional business opportunities
Collaborate with the marketing department and directors to compose and complete large and/or formal proposals          Â

POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor's degree in related discipline, or experience equivalent
Significant experience in drinking water and wastewater engineering, planning, or infrastructure delivery
Established relationships within Ohio
Experience leading complex municipal or utility projects from planning through delivery
A background working with public funding programs, regulatory agencies, and local decision‑makers
Demonstrate competency in client management and engagement, project management, communication, financial management, and collaboration
Proven ability to lead teams and mentor professionals
Strong communication skills and the confidence to represent Spicer Group with clients, partners, and community stakeholders
Ability to travel 50%
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Professional licensure (PE) and relevant certification(s) are strongly preferred
