Description

The Manufacturing Supervisor at BEI Precision plays a critical role in leading the day-to-day operations within the Military Department. Reporting to the Operations Manager, this individual is accountable for ensuring high performance in quality, delivery, and cost, while developing and supporting a culture of safety, continuous improvement and excellence. This role demands strong leadership, technical know-how, and the ability to execute manufacturing strategies in alignment with BEI Precision and Arxis operational goals. The ideal candidate will be a champion of Lean Manufacturing principles, an effective communicator, and a collaborative problem-solver dedicated to building a world-class operations team.

Duties and Responsibilities:

路 Under the limited supervision of a manager, lead the daily manufacturing operations of the assigned department to achieve production and delivery of quality products within cost and schedule requirements.聽

路 Perform work assignments, performance tracking, and metric reporting as part of our Daily Management System (TIER structure).

路 Set clear expectations and accountability for production output and quality.

路 Collaborate with Operations Management to execute cost, quality, and delivery strategies.

路 Hire, train, coach, and develop manufacturing personnel.

路 Promote technical growth and lean manufacturing capabilities within the team.

路 Support workforce planning including scheduling, staffing levels, and overtime management.

路 Proactively correct personnel performance deficiencies using the Performance Improvement Plan (PIP) process through all the required steps.

路 Maintain accurate employee records including training, quality, attendance, and performance.

  • Supervise the timely and accurate reporting of 聽聽聽聽聽labor and production data.

路 Manage assigned projects and drive cross-functional teams to implement continuous improvement projects.

路 Proactively identify problems, their root cause lead cross-functional teams to develop and implement corrective actions.聽

路 Escalate and eliminate obstacles to ensure 100% On-Time Delivery.

路 Work closely with Engineering to identify and implement innovative technologies and optimize manufacturing processes.

路 Partner with Production Control and Planning to ensure Master Production Schedule (MPS) is accurate and within Capacity to meet customer demand.

路 Coordinate activities with Ops. Management to determine and adjust Long-Range Planning Capacity profiles.聽

路 As required, act as customer interface.

路 Ensure a safe working environment and compliance with safety and quality standards.

路 Enforce compliance with AS9100, ISO9001, and company-specific quality systems.

路 Other related duties as assigned by management.

Requirements

Qualifications, Skills, and Experience

路 Associate鈥檚, Bachelor鈥檚, or Advanced degree in Manufacturing, Business, or Engineering is preferred.

路 聽Equivalent military or manufacturing experience (10+ years) will be considered in lieu of degree.

路 Minimum 2 years in manufacturing supervision or management preferred.

路 Demonstrated success leading teams in regulated environments.

路 Personnel management and development experience.

路 Familiarity with shop practices, quality standards, and operational procedures

路 Working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies.聽

路 Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems.

路 Understanding of AS9100 / ISO9001 quality systems and electronic assembly processes is preferred (e.g., soldering, PCB assembly, microelectronics, or precision electromechanical assembly).

路 Strong leadership and communication abilities.

路 Effective problem-solving and decision-making skills.

路 Ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.

路 Commitment to teamwork, integrity, and operational excellence.


Physical Requirements:

路 Ability to stand or walk for extended periods during production oversight

路 Manual dexterity for handling small components

路 May require occasional lifting of items up to 25 pounds

路 Use of standard ESD protection & PPE in manufacturing environments

路 Visual acuity to inspect parts and read technical documents
