JOB SUMMARY
This role is essential in keeping QED moving in the right direction. A Mechanical Assembler follows documents and instructions to assemble MRI coil housings and part. This is accomplished by using a variety of tools and equipment. In addition, this role supports our 3D printing department (direct digital manufacturing (DDM)) in removal of support material and sanding parts. 
 
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Perform assembly operations per documented procedures and applicable standards.
  • Follow all safety and ESD guidelines.
  • Clean coils per work instructions and training.
  • Remove support material and sand DDM printed parts per work instructions and training.
  • Use hand or power tools as needed.
  • Follow all safety requirements and use personal protective gear as required.
  • Ensure good organization and cleanliness of warehouse area.
  • Contribute to building a culture of cooperation and teamwork.
  • Identify potential problem areas and make suggestions for improvements

 

QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience

  • High school diploma (or equivalent)
  • Basic assembly experience preferred but not required

Skills and Abilities

Required 

  • Hands-on skill using various tools 
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
  • Basic computer experience
  • Ability to work at standard job efficiency after reasonable job training period

Preferred 

  • Familiarity with working safely within a plant environment

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift 25 pounds
  • Ability to stand for an extended period of time
  • Ability to stoop, reach and lift with your body and arms
  • Ability to see details at close range and to identify and distinguish colors
  • Ability to quickly move your hands to grasp, manipulate, or assemble objects
  • Ability to make precisely coordinated movements of the fingers of one or both hands to grasp, manipulate, or assemble very small objects
  • Ability to use hand tools
