Job DetailsJob Location: STOBER Drives Inc 1780 Downing Drive Maysville KY 41056 - Maysville, KY 41056Position Type: Full TimeJob Shift: DayMechanical Technician Position Summary The Mechanical Technician performs hands on diagnosis, repair, rebuild, and testing of industrial gearboxes and related mechanical equipment within a repair facility. This role is responsible for identifying mechanical issues, determining repair needs, and restoring equipment to proper operating condition while supporting quality, safety, and turnaround expectations. The role requires strong mechanical aptitude, troubleshooting ability, attention to detail, and a commitment to high quality workmanship. Core Responsibilities Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues involving industrial gearboxes, rotating equipment, and related assemblies.  Perform disassembly, inspection, repair, rebuild, and reassembly of industrial equipment and components.  Replace or restore components including bearings, seals, gearing, shafts, and related mechanical systems.  Inspect components for wear, contamination, misalignment, overload, and other failure conditions.  Execute repairs in accordance with internal procedures, quality standards, and safety requirements.  Verify completed repairs through functional and mechanical testing.  Document inspection findings, repair actions, and test results in a clear and organized format.  Collaborate with Electromechanical Repair Technicians and other team members on cross functional repair activities.  Escalate complex or unclear issues to engineering or support resources as needed.  Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment that supports productivity and workflow efficiency.  Additional Responsibilities Perform other duties as assigned in support of service operations and evolving business needs.  Success in This Role Mechanical issues are accurately identified and repaired.  Repairs are completed with high quality and minimal rework.  Equipment is restored to proper operating condition and performance expectations.  Documentation is clear, accurate, and useful for service records.  Work is completed safely and within expected turnaround targets.  Strong teamwork supports overall shop productivity and repair quality.  Qualifications  Qualifications Required 2+ years of industrial maintenance, mechanical repair, equipment rebuild, or related experience. Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting ability. Experience working with industrial equipment, rotating assemblies, or mechanical systems. Ability to use hand tools, measurement tools, and shop equipment safely and effectively. Attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship. Preferred Experience in manufacturing, repair, maintenance, or industrial service environments. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings or assembly diagrams. Experience troubleshooting mechanical equipment and identifying failure causes. Physical Demands Ability to work in a manufacturing and repair environment. Regular standing, bending, and movement throughout the facility. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs as required. Extended use of tools, equipment, and computer systems.
