About the Role:
The ER Outpatient Admitting Clerk plays a critical role in ensuring a smooth and efficient patient intake process within the emergency room outpatient setting. This position is responsible for accurately collecting and verifying patient information, insurance details, and consent forms to facilitate timely registration and billing. The clerk acts as the first point of contact for patients arriving at the ER outpatient department, providing a welcoming and professional experience while maintaining confidentiality and compliance with healthcare regulations. By managing patient records and coordinating with clinical and administrative teams, the clerk helps optimize patient flow and supports the overall quality of care. Ultimately, this role contributes to the operational efficiency of the emergency outpatient services and enhances patient satisfaction through meticulous attention to detail and effective communication.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Previous experience in medical office administration, patient registration, or a related healthcare setting.
- Basic knowledge of medical terminology and healthcare insurance processes..
- Strong communication and customer service skills.

- Certification in Medical Administration or Health Information Management.
- Experience working specifically in an emergency room or outpatient clinical environment.

Responsibilities:
- Greet and register patients arriving at the ER outpatient department, ensuring all necessary demographic and insurance information is accurately collected.

- Maintain and update patient records in electronic health record (EHR) systems, ensuring data accuracy and confidentiality.
