About the Role:

McAlester Regional Health Center (MRHC) is seeking a dedicated House Manager to provide leadership and operational oversight during assigned shifts to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality patient care throughout the facility. The House Manager serves as a key leader responsible for planning, organizing, coaching, and facilitating clinical functions and staff across departments. This role ensures compliance with DNV standards, hospital policies, and best practices while promoting teamwork among physicians, nurses, and other healthcare providers. In addition, the House Manager plays a critical role in hospital-wide operations by coordinating patient admissions, discharges, and transfers while maintaining awareness of hospital capacity and facilitating efficient patient throughput. In the absence of the Director of Nursing Services, the House Manager assumes operational leadership of nursing services during the assigned shift.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
  • Current RN license in the state of Oklahoma. 
  • Current BLS and ACLS certifications. 
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact professionally with patients, staff, and external contacts.
  • Strong clinical knowledge and leadership ability in an acute care setting.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
  • Minimum of five years of nursing management or leadership experience.
  • Experience coordinating patient flow, bed management, and hospital-wide clinical operations.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership, coordination, and supervision of nursing service activities during the assigned shift to ensure safe, efficient, and therapeutic patient care.
  • Ensure compliance with DNV standards and hospital policies and procedures.
  • Manage supplies, equipment, and staffing resources during the shift.
  • Oversee all patient admissions, discharges, and transfer activities while continuously monitoring hospital capacity.
  • Facilitate patient throughput from all points of entry through effective communication, clinical decision-making, and coordination of ancillary services.
  • Act as the central contact for bed management decisions during the assigned shift, including unit closures and critical bed status decisions.
  • Circulate throughout the hospital to monitor operational needs and patient placement progress.
  • Provide guidance, coaching, and counseling for staff working during the assigned shift.

This individual must possess strong clinical judgment, the ability to make timely decisions, and the confidence to direct staff in carrying out patient care functions effectively. The House Manager must be highly organized, capable of multitasking, and skilled at fostering collaboration among interdisciplinary teams. This role requires the ability to maintain a global view of hospital capacity and operational needs while promoting professionalism, teamwork, and exceptional customer service for patients, families, physicians, and staff.
