About the Role:
The RN Mid-Shift Flex Position is designed to provide critical nursing care during the mid-shift hours, ensuring seamless patient care continuity within a dynamic healthcare environment. This role requires adaptability to varying patient needs and the ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently. Flex hours (11-1 or 1-1) The nurse will collaborate closely with interdisciplinary teams to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care plans, promoting optimal health outcomes. Flexibility in scheduling allows the nurse to support different units as needed, enhancing overall operational effectiveness. Ultimately, this position plays a vital role in maintaining high standards of patient safety, comfort, and satisfaction during the mid-shift period.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Current and valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the United States.
- Completion of an accredited nursing program (Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Nursing).
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Minimum of one year of clinical nursing experience in a hospital or acute care setting.
- Strong knowledge of nursing principles, patient care standards, and healthcare regulations.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree.
- Advanced certifications such as ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) or PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support).
- Experience working in a flexible or float nurse role covering multiple units.
- Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Epic or Cerner.
- Demonstrated skills in patient education and interdisciplinary collaboration.
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct patient care including assessment, medication administration, and monitoring of patient conditions during mid-shift hours.
- Collaborate with physicians, specialists, and other healthcare professionals to develop and update individualized care plans.
- Respond promptly to patient needs and emergencies, ensuring timely interventions and documentation.
- Maintain accurate and detailed patient records in compliance with healthcare regulations and facility policies.
- Support unit operations by assisting with admissions, discharges, and transfers as required.
- Educate patients and their families on health management and post-discharge care instructions.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and staff meetings to enhance patient care delivery.
