Responsible for technical supplier quality engineering activities to ensure products delivered to Stellantis manufacturing plants meet design, process, safety, and quality requirements. Leads supplier management through engineering review of manufacturing processes, material specifications, process capability, dimensional and functional performance, and validation of corrective actions. Owns PPAP approvals for new programs and engineering changes, including review of process flow, PFMEA, control plans, capability studies, measurement systems, and evidence of product/process readiness. Coordinates containment, root cause investigation, and permanent corrective action using advanced problem-solving methods, data analysis, and technical assessment of supplier manufacturing processes. Applies engineering judgment to evaluate supplier process controls, material performance, coatings, corrosion prevention, heat treatment, polymers, adhesives, fluids, or other chemically influenced processes where applicable, creating a strong connection to a Chemical Engineering background. Implements preventive actions, continuous improvement plans, and supplier action plans to improve quality performance and reduce risk to production. Performs supplier audits to verify compliance with Stellantis requirements, automotive quality standards, and process discipline. Monitors supplier quality assurance metrics and drives technical action plans to improve performance. Responds to plant and internal customer quality concerns, supports supplier improvement plans, and partners with Purchasing to assess and select new suppliers based on technical capability, process robustness, and quality system maturity.
The ideal candidate will be with 2 hours of clients in the Matamoros or Reynosa area.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, preferably Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical, Materials, Manufacturing, Industrial, or a related technical engineering discipline
- A minimum of 5 years of automotive experience
- Knowledge of industrial processes, preferably automotive
- Knowledge of quality Core Tools (APQP, PPAP, FMEA2, SPC, MSA, CP)
- Knowledge of problem-solving tools (8D, Red X, Six-Sigma)
- Demonstrated leadership in problem solving
- Excellent verbal and communication skills for presentations at any level of the organization
- Ability to adapt and be a continuous learner
