Job DetailsJob Location: mcallen, TX 78503Position Type: Full TimeJob Shift: DayResponsibilities: Develop and implement Food Safety and Organic Programs. Support annual PrimusGFS and Organic certifications. Identify, support, and coordinate the continuous education and training of all employees to meet or exceed industry standards and/or government requirements by working closely with the Food Safety Manager. Liaise with outside vendors for support with our pre-requisite programs (pest program, janitorial services, sanitation and cleaning products). Validate and verify that operational checklists, forms, and records are completed in a timely manner and address any non-conformities. Conduct internal program audits and mock recalls as required. Do weekly work schedule for Sanitation and Housekeeping staff. Knowledge of food safety regulations and standards. Knowledge in the use of software and tools for monitoring food safety. Ability to identify training needs, coordinate training sessions, and ensure all employees receive the necessary education to comply with food safety regulations and standards. Ability to identify potential risks and take corrective actions quickly when non-conformities are detected. Ability to plan and execute projects related to continuous improvement of food safety. Ability to make informed decisions and lead teams in critical situations, such as during audits, inspections, or food safety incidents QualificationsEducation and Knowledge: Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Industrial Engineering, or related fields. Analytical, accurate and thorough. Leadership skills. Strong Organizational skills. Sense of urgency.
