Responsibilities

POSITION SUMMARY:

 

The patient sitter role is a position providing support to the patient care team as well as directly attending to certain, specified needs of the patient.  The patient assistant sitter provides constant observation and monitoring of assigned patients to ensure safety and prevention of injury. 


Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS:

1.     BLS upon hire or may obtain within two weeks of start date and must keep current thereafter.

 

EDUCATION / LICENSURE:

1.     High School diploma, GED or Higher Education required.

2.     BLS certification, according to unit specific needs.  Certification must be in accordance with the curriculum of the AHA, for Healthcare Provider’s Program.

3.     Complete the CPI training within 6 months of hire and maintain certification thereafter.
